House of the rising sun - Art Journal DT Art Anthology

Good day all of you Art Anthology fans!
Hope you are all fine and getting ready for winter (at least it's nearly there here in Norway).

Marianne here today and I'm going to show you an art journal spread again, featuring Art Anthology
I must admit - I page I really love and enjoyed making.

The team got this "music" theme for our second posts and I knew exactly what I would do, or at least, which song I would make.
I simply LOVE the song "house of the rising sun", by Animals.
It's a song I learned to play (by myself) on both piano and guitar and a song I always use on my ear out walking (and often on repeat LOL )

There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God, I know I'm one

 My mother was a tailor
She sewed my new bluejeans
My father was a gamblin' man
Down in New Orleans

Now the only thing a gambler needs
Is a suitcase and trunk
And the only time he's satisfied
Is when he's on a drunk

 Oh mother tell your children
Not to do what I have done
Spend your lives in sin and misery
In the House of the Rising Sun

Well, I got one foot on the platform
The other foot on the train
I'm goin' back to New Orleans
To wear that ball and chain Well,

there is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God, I know I'm one.

On these pages I tried to tell a story from the song, painting in houses, rails, ball&chain, trunks, sun etc.
Guess you now see how much fun I had making this!

I started with a gessoed page and used the colors Colorations  Ink spot and salted caramel to make the background (added some spritz of Waimea Bay and some water as well)
Used the birds-stencil Take flight (ohhh... I love this) togheter with Black Tuxedo Velvet and also the Dots Matrix-stencil for more texture.

Here you see the trunks and suitcases
The small houses is made with a stencil and pattern paper by 7Dots Studio.
I used black Gelato on the edges of the houses

And some stamps on the background of course
The sign is made with the Stabilo all "magic pencil" and some water + Gelato

I've added Gold Metal effects on the roof, the door and in the windows, not so easy to see here IMG_6819

The sun got  a coat of Stone Effect Bone. I planned to color it yellow, but decided to let i be neutral and just colored the "beams"

Lets rock, lets roll - Once Upon a Sketch

Here is a layout I made for the challenge at Once Upon a Sketch with the theme : "Inspiration/I am inspired by etc..." and with this sketch:

My inspiration: the girls on this photo. Scrapping friends, Lene Neby, Linda Brun, Brit Sviggum and myself (on the floor) having a fun photoshoot at a crop last year. Three very creative ladies and I'm so happy they are my friends!

Bloom

Just popping in to share a layout made a while ago.

It was this layout a taught at the class back in October at Tønsbergtreffet.

The photos are in fact a mistake-print. One of the colors in my printer suddenly went empty and the photos all got yellow'ish

I thought they looked rather cool and wanted to use them in a layout.

So here it is, filled with gorgeous colors which is Colorations spray inks by Art Anthology.

I also used the mist to get the matching colors on the flowers.

Art journal

A new art journal spread today.

I recently bought myself some new paints, QoR watercolor paint by Golden and here is my first try with that paint.

I loved the colors in my new set! I don't use watercolors that much, maybe it will change now.
I made this in my little Dylusions art journal and since I planned to use a lot of water, I first added Gel Medium on the page and then Gesso.

wish you all a happy weekend

Platanias by night - DT Art Anthology

Hi peeps!
Do you know what day it is today?
Yes, correct, it's Saturday, 8th of November.
In fact, it's my Birthday!!  Hippity hip hooray for me!
So, let's get over to some serious crafting!
Today I have a layout to show you with a photo from our summervacation in Platanias, Crete featuring Art Anthology
We went up to the old town at night and got this fabolous view over Platanias city and the Mediterranean sea.
I wanted to use some of the new  gorgeous Art Anthology stencils and on this layout I used the birds  -  "Take flight" as my "centerpiece".
I think , one of my favorite! (and has been using it a lot on art journals etc lately)
If you want to check out how this layout was made, check out Art Anthology blog and today's post. More details and photos to be found there!

You and me - 7Dots Studio October challenge texture

Hi there!

Today I have a layout to show you, partly made on the crop I went to last weekend.

A few days before the crop I got a note in my mailbox , a parcel was waiting for me at the post office.

I couldn't remember I had ordered anything from Poland lately so I was very curious and had to turn the car around and hurry to the post-office.

When I opened the package I nearly fainted.
A complete collection of the new 7Dots Studio collections, with gorgeous papers, stamps and chippies.
Sent to me from the sweetest Tusia!! Just because she wanted to make me happy!!

Well, she certainly know me, because I was so happy I nearly cried.
She know I love 7Dots Studio and always will!

So I brought the whole bunch of papers and stamps with me to the crop.
Knowing I probably wouldn't have time to create so much, since I was teaching two classes on Saturday.
I started on this layout on Friday, and finished it up at home.

So this is for the October -challenge TEXTURES.
With layers of papers, tons of stamps, stencils and Colorations spray inks by Art Anthology, I guess I've solved the challenge.

Here is the son of my niece and me, our first meeting. He is only 4 months old and live too far away, so I was very happy when I heard we got able to see each other.
He's a beautiful boy and I was very proud "old aunt", holding him.
