Two cards - DT 2Crafty Chipboard

Hi again and welcome back!

I don't make so many cards at the moment, but sometimes I need to, because I want to give homemade cards when I give a Birthday gift or for special occasions.

So here is two cards, made with some of the beutiful chippies by 2Crafty Chipboard.

For this first card, I have used loads of chippie pieces and it is surprising
how many pieces you can fit on a card.

I have made a little scene, using some of the Fencing Wire, Iron Gate and French Lace,
and then to soften it, I have added the Leafy Round behind my Heart.

I have used gesso on all the chippies, before using a mix of inks to get the desired colours -
I've gone for a very earthy, rustic tone.

Papers are from 7Dots Studio and I have used some stamps by Prima/Finnabair and Ecoline watercolor on the background.

For this card, I have used softer colour tones, and used more feminine pieces.

I have layered up multiple pieces again, including pieces from the Squiggly Heart Cluster
Butterfly Frames and cut off piece from the 5" Floral Frame.

Below you can see the layering effect, love the texture and contrast the chipboard
adds to the card.

On this card I have used papers by 7Dots Studio, stamps by Prima/Finnabair and 7Dots Studio.
I have also used some tags I made some time ago + a tag from a sweater.
The pink flower is by Prima

Hope I have inspired you to bring out your chippies and make some cards!
Hugs

Best day ever - DT 2Crafty Chipboards

"Best Day Ever"

Hi peeps, hope you all are well!
Today I have a layout featuring 2Crafty Chipboard to show you.

Earlier this year I surprised our youngest daughter and bought a ticket to a
concert with her favorite band, the Australian boy/rock-band 5SOS.
I really made "her day" and she had the time of her life!! (I missed my earplugs LOL)

So the photo on this layout is from this concert and the fabulous lightshow as you can see!

I really love the  Hessian Patch Panel chipboard and know I'll be using this very much!
I cut it in several pieces and placed it near the photos. Gesso, archival ink and Ecoline
watercolor is used on the chippies. I love to mix colors on my chippies according
to the rest of the layout.

The title "Best Day Ever" is colored with Archival Ink,  black and white  gesso.

One of the things I like to to do on my layouts is to use multiple photos
and place them as you see here. It give the layout dimension I think.

Look at this amazing Hessian Patch Panel again, it's just so cool!

Here I have used the "Heart Charms" and given it the same treatment
as the rest of the chippies.

My background is made with Heavy Gesso by Prima/Finnabair, black gesso, Ecoline watercolor, stamps by Prima/Finnabair and 7Dots Studio.
I cut out lots of bits of pattern paper as a start, to get even more dimension.

All the papers I have used is 7Dots Studio, 9th Wave

Hope you liked my layout and I'll be back soon with some cards, also featuring 2Crafty Chipboard.

Trastevere - DT Mixed Media Place

For my project this month I have chosen one of the many photos taken in Rome.
And this time it’s from the beutiful place Trastevere, located near the river Tiber.

Really, this is a place I would like to live when I retire!
Loved the narrow streets, the old houses with the gorgeous colors and the whole atmosphere.

Scenario: me sitting outside one of the tiny restaurants with a bottle of Prosecco..... a dream!!
So here it is, my layout from Trastevere:

I used papers from 7Dots Studio Dreamer collection and some heavy Gesso, stencils, stamps and ink on the background. The chipboards are colored with Archival Ink Orange Blossom (love that color). Of course some of my new favorites – Ecoline watercolor.

I also did some stamping with black Gelato + water. Makes a “blur stamping” and I love that look.

Both the title and the grid under the photo are chippies by 2Crafty Chipboard which I used Archival Ink in different color to get the color I wanted.

Hope you like my dreamy layout and make sure to visit Trastevere if you ever go to Rome!!

Check out Mixed Media Place blog to see what kind of products I have used on this layout and you can of course buy them there!Hugs from Marianne
